Guru Tegh Bahadur travelled extensively across the South Asian subcontinent. During these travels he came across the pristine location of Anandpur, which is situated in the foothills of the Shivalik Hills mountain range and close to the famous Satluj river. The awe-inspiring views from this area clearly left an impression on Guru Tegh Bahadur, as this location was chosen to be a tactical position for future generations of Sikhs to set up camp.
